Opening Doors for Children & Families

Careers

ABC Head Start Society is comprised of inter-related program areas that work together to achieve success in learning and life. The agency has been committed to promoting and supporting strong children, families and communities in Edmonton for over 30 years. The work we do at ABC Head Start Society moves us toward fulfilling our mission - Opening doors for children and families by building strong foundations in the early years.

As a member of a Head Start team you will work with families, Teachers, Early Childhood Educators, Social Workers, Home Educators, Speech Language Pathologists (SLP), Primary Health Care Nurses, pre-Kindergarten Therapists, volunteers and other supports within the school and community. We offer a comprehensive prekindergarten and family support program for vulnerable children and families. Our goal is to prepare children for a successful educational experience in partnership with the family and community. We know that by giving children the best possible early learning and development opportunities in life, we ensure the future well-being and prosperity of our families and communities.

As a member of the 123 Grow Child Development Centre, you will work with children, families and other supports within the agency and community. The program will use an evidence-based *child care curriculum framework. This program was developed by early learning and child care educators, early childhood academics, government, and professionals working in related fields. It is designed to foster improved early childhood development outcomes so children can get the best possible start to life.

All employees are required to have a current (within 6 months) Criminal Record Check and Intervention Record Check through Children's Services. We strongly recommend that you start this process before you apply for a job at ABC Head Start Society as it is a condition of employment.
