First Day of Classes for ABC Head Start is Wednesday, September 6.

All registered families should have received a welcome package with information regarding your child's school site, classroom and time.  If you did not receive this please contact coordinator@abcheadstart.org.

Please send your child wearing the nametag provided in their welcome package and a clean pair of indoor shoes.  All snacks are provided so no need to send food.

Please note, busses may be late...

Welcome letters with your child's classroom information and time will be mailed out before the end of July. ABC Head Start is proud to announce that we have been selected as one of 22 Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) Centres across Alberta.  We are excited to build on our 32 year history of providing pre-Kindergarten and family support services to children and families in Edmonton by expanding our early childhood services to include high quality and affordable child care.

Registration Update for 2017/2018 

Welcome to ABC Head StartWe are still accepting applications for the 2017/2018 school year. For more information, please click on the links below. Please complete your application and send your eligibility documents to the Administration Office. You can also visit the boundary map tab to see if you live within the catchment area of programming offered through ABC Head Start.

Please check the weather forecasts daily. We want to be sure that the children are dressed for the weather during the spring season. Please stay tuned to our Facebook page as we post regular updates about the activities in our Sites, and the weather and road conditions which do impact bussing.

The last day of classes for the 2016-2017 program year is Wednesday, June 28, 2017. We wish all of the children, and families all the best in the years ahead.

Aleda Patterson Community Spirit Award  

Aleda Patterson is the founder of ABC Head Start and a committed contributor in the Edmonton area; she is a visionary and an advocate who believes in empowering others to reach their full potential.

Changes to the Application Process for 2015/2016 School Year

ABC Head Start is changing the application process and we are holding Registration Events in the April and May for the 2015/2016 school year. It is our goal to confirm registration for eligible children and families OR refer children and families to other resources/programs.

ABC Head Start provides an early learning program for children with comprehensive family support in multiple locations across the city of Edmonton. To qualify for the program your child must be at least 3 years, 6 months old by September 1st and your family must fall within our low income guidelines. There is no charge for the program. This spring we will be holding Registration Events across the City of Edmonton where we will be meeting children and families, processing applications and determining eligibility for the program. We are holding Registration Events during the spring for programming to start in September. Please see the For Parents and Agencies page of the website for details.
