Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is an elected group of individuals whose responsibility it is to set organizational direction, to ensure necessary resources and to provide oversight. The Board sets ABC Head Start policy and direction and monitors effectiveness and efficiency of the agency through the Executive Director and the Leadership team. 9-12 people, who include a Chair, Treasurer and a Secretary make up the Board of Directors. According to bylaws the Board must include one current program volunteer and two Head Start parents, along with interested community members such as teachers, social workers, lawyers, accountants, speech language pathologists, business people, etc.
